Lot Description
A Rococo fireplace ornament (candelabra) consisting of a bronze dor? structure mounted on a marble base, featuring 3 round hand-painted glass pieces. The glasse part is hand-painted on the reverse side with mother-of-pearl. Italy, 19th century. Bronze (gilding, casting), stone (white marble). Height 46 cm (18 inches), width and depth 130 x 15 cm (51 1/4 x 6 inches).
Conditions
Without significant damage. The gilded bronze has signs of wear and fading. The marble is intact but has small chips. The glass panels are undamaged but with slight deformations in the paintwork.
