Lot Description
Franz Leo Ruben (1842-1920). 1872. Watercolour on paper on cardboard, size 24 x 26 cm (9 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches). Frame dimensions 28 x 30 cm (11 x 11 3/4 inches). Signed and dated lower right. (Franz Leo Ruben was a Nordic artist who trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under his father's guidance. He completed his artistic training with a study trip to Italy, particularly Rome in 1869. However, he was most fascinated by Venice, where he stayed from 1874 until 1914.)
