Pietro Kufferle (1887-1942). Bust of the Russian opera singer - Eugenio Sdanoski (1892 - 1949, Евгений Ждановский in Cyrillic), 1930. Bronze and patina, height 40 cm (15 3/4 inches), dimensions 32 x 24 cm (12 2/3 x 9 1/2 inches). Signed and dated on the base in italian: "Pietro Kufferle a Eugenio Sdanoski per la publice mirabile interpretazione di boris e varlaam allarena della mia citia natale Verona agosto 1930 offero con spontanco entusiasmo e auspicio di gloria". Provenance: the bust was crafted and signed in appreciation of the singer's performance in Verona in 1930. The lot includes 4 photographs and a letter from Eugenio Sdanoski.
